While I can tell that this site is undergoing some construction, my already lowered expectations were nowhere near low enough to offer any praise. Cutting to the point: front desk had to ask if the room had been cleaned yet, while the maids were talking about their personal lives behind the desk. Upon confirming they were "cleaned" the girl checking me in tossed the door key on the counter and walked off, forcing me to ask for directions to the room. As we adventured out of the office, we took the dog to a nearby grassy area to break, where it was quite apparent that no one has picked up after their dogs in months. We also encountered a beautiful three foot long rattlesnake in this area, but I wont blame that on the hotel, just a surprise from nature I guess. Parking near my room was unavailable, as several vehicles occupied the handicap spaces unlawfully. On our hike from the available parking, we carefully dodged used medical waste (needles), drug paraphernalia (pipes), and used condoms in the parking lot. Forest Green is indeed a beautiful color, but should not be used for swimming pool water. The algae in the pool gave off a nauseating odor in the heat of the afternoon. My young child had been looking forward to a refreshing swim at the end of our 16 hour drive, and we were immensely disappointed. Once in the room, I could tell that some effort was made in cleaning and preparing the room, but someone missed restocking the toilet paper and flushing the toilet. Fortunately it was only recognizable cleaning chemicals and we came prepared with our own bathroom tissues. Then there was the bed... Everything up to this point would have been forgivable if the bed was comfortable. Alas, it was not. In fact, after about 90 minutes on the well abused and poorly aged mattress, I discovered it was more comfortable to sleep on the laminated floor.
FIX THE DARN POOL. that with the employees that you have would make it a 4 star to me. The TV reception struggled really bad. You have two movie channels that HBO stinks. Friendliness of the staff needs a higher ranking. they are over the top.
OK You have a pool that is in need of repair. Fix it. It would have bee nice to have been able to use it each evening and on Sunday when was off. other than that the employees were the best and helpful.
One of the better Motel 6 I've stayed at. Ive stayed here twice so far, and will make it my choice when i return. The bed seems a bit old and worn, but the rooms are very clean and basic and otherwise comfortable. Unlike many M6, this one still has a tub, which I like, and not the corner shower. Excellent price for a good night's sleep when traveling. I travel with dogs, and while there isn't a lot of space for dog business, there is a strip of well used weeds along the entire perimeter of the property, as well as good fencing. Also, the parking lot in the back of the motel is made to accommodate a few tractors and trucks with trailers, and has little traffic, so there is plenty of safe space to walk the dog or throw a ball.
You're nightly rates go up and down way to much. I lived in Odessa when the oil boom hit and the people came and your nightly rates went up to $99.99. Then the boom went bust and you're rates went back down to $49.99. I was there less than three months ago for $49.00. Three months later It's up to $69.00 a night. Is the boom coming back. If you really want to know what I think. ( This time, spend a little money on the old place and fix it up a bit ). I noticed you're working on the roof but, that's 'maintenance'. I'm talking; doors, floors, parking lot, new beds, on and on. However, I have not one single bad word to say about the Staff. Everyone I encountered in the office or passing on the walkway, looked up and had a smile on, perfectly polite, friendly and eager to help. You have good people working there. I have more to say both good and bad but, better I stop. It's hard for me to tell a short story. Thanks
It was what you would expect from a Motel 6. The price is what keeps that franchise alive. I stayed in Motel 6 in every city I went to during my trip because of the cost effectiveness. They were all pretty much the same. Every room had a smoke smell to it. Even the non-smoking rooms. For non-smokers like myself that's a big turn off. If that could get cleaned up somehow, you'd have something pretty good on your hands I think.
